There is the saying "Don't rest on your laurels" taken from the first Olympian who finished first in the race and was crowned with a laurel wreath. It is a personal I (egoic ) statement meaning don't rest or another will beat you. There is another choice here...you can choose to rest with the laurels.
Catch yourself when your thoughts are in attention with the personal I mind thoughts and return to the laurel and rest.We all wear the laurel crown, it is a matter of that which we identify with... "Don't rest on your laurels." or "Do rest with the laurels!"
